Fleeing from a murderous demon that has been terrorizing them throughout the movie, siblings Trish and Darry have come to the police station to get their parents over and escape the town and wait for them.
Earlier in the film they had met Jezelle, the town's resident psychic, who has warned them of a terrible vision she'd had that one of them is going to die horribly in a dark place, with the song "Jeepers Creepers" playing in the background. She has now arrived at the station to make sure they are both okay. It's not long before the demon also arrives at the station and having recovered from injuries sustained earlier when Trish ran it over, is on the warpath.
The siblings, find themselves in the interrogation room, the kind with a two-way mirror the FBI stands behind during questioning. Both are unaware that the Creeper is standing behind the mirror, watching them, until it suddenly bursts through the mirror and grabs them. The demon then sniffs them both, trying to determine which of them had been snooping in his lair earlier. The answer comes clear when he throws Trish aside and holding Darry tight, spreads its wings preparing to fly off.
Trish attempts to reason with the demon, offering that it take her instead and leave her brother alone. However, a warning the psychic had told them earlier suggests that the Creeper is drawn to its victims by their fear. Darry is terrified beyond words, while Trish is bravely standing up to it. This completely invalidates any chance of the Creeper accepting her offer, so it responds by turning and smashing out the window before flying off into the night with Darry in tow. Where normally this would lead to a scene involving the heroine setting out to save her brother, this is NOT the case here! Instead, we move to the following day, Trish is distraught, knowing the Creeper has no doubt moved on to a different location to insure he is not found.
Meanwhile, at an abandoned factory which the Creeper has obviously made its new residence, tortured screams can be heard within as the camera guides us through its dark, decaying corridors. Suddenly we begin to hear the sound of the song "Jeepers Creepers" amidst Darry's pained cries as his suffering continues.
Finally, his screams cease as we come to the Creeper's lair, where the demon is seated at a table working on something as the music plays nearby on an old record player, then we come over to Darry, whose lifeless body is chained from the ceiling, his eyes completely gouged out that the holes go all the way through his head, his face frozen in pained terror. As the camera zooms in on one of his empty eye holes, the Creeper, now donning new eyes, comes over and peers through one of them before the credits roll.
As interesting sidenote, being dead doesn't stop Long popping up for a dream sequence cameo in 'Jeepers Creepers 2'.
"Dismemberment", for being skinned.
"Prophecy", for the title song.
He wasn't skinned, he just had his eyes gouged out.
I do agree with the Prophecy thing though, because Jezelle forsaw this.
He wasn't skinned, he just had his eyes gouged out.
Then how do we see the creeper walk up behind the skin, and see him through the eye-holes? You see, that is what Darry had that Trish didn't, male skin.
Actually, the Creeper did just take Darry's eyes. Gender means little to him, he just, for whatever reason, feels he needs to take certain body parts from certain victims. When Darry returns as a ghost of sorts in the sequel, he's perfectly whole, apart from missing his eyes.
As for the Creeper appearing through the eye-holes, that's just a lame attempt at a spooky image which ultimately doesn't make a whole lot of sense, unless, of course, the Creepy drilled two holes straight through Darry's head by way of his eye sockets. It's worth noting that in the sequel, when Darry appears eyeless, you can see the background through his head in this manner as well, but there's no indication he's just "empty skin," to my recollection.
When Darry returns as a ghost of sorts in the sequel, he's perfectly whole, apart from missing his eyes.
I guess they couldn't do as good an effect, because it's two shots to one towards his total skinning. Creepy even took the belly-button out to decorate a ninja star.
Okay I finally just saw the movie, and Darry was definitely not skinned. He's still got his tongue and teeth in his mouth, things he would not have if he was just empty skin. What it looks like, is the Creeper cut off the back of his head, removing his brain and otherwise hollowing out the skull cavity.
Couldn't it still count for Dismemberment regardless of whether he got skinned or not? I mean, the Creeper still pulled out his eyes (at the very least). And I've seen other deaths count as Dismemberment for just a single eye being removed.
D:
when i saw the ending of jeepers creepers i was like what the fuck is this a dead guy,but looking closely it was Darry. It,s crazy how a creature can eat your eyes all the way through your fucking skull man plus your body looks exactly like the wooden plate that darry saw in the basement of the old church. I guest not only jeepers creepers is a killer, but he also phycic that is fucking wicked man piece.p.s oh by the way johnathan breck when ever your killing somebody don,t leave them ass naked thats kinda gay man.
I am glade Darry died so Trish did not die.
Well, uhm, just saying, but the thing that Darry had that Trish didn't have was mainly fear. Not male vs female body parts or anything. The Creeper was drawn to Darry's fear whereas Trish was brave and standing up to the Creeper offering herself. Of course, personally, I DO in fact really wish that it wasn't Darry but Trish who died.. not that I don't like Trish, just that I am in love with Justin Long and Darry, not to sound immature, but I can't help it !
How did the creeper destroy his brain?I want to know which one of you left
