Constable John Harris is the island's sole police officer. Early on, he complains about having nothing exciting to do because of how peaceful and tranquil the island is. Poor Harris soon comes to regret making this statement when the islanders and their livestock begin turning up dead with their skeletons removed.
After being told about the latest tragedy - a horse owned by a farmer named Morton - Harris hops onto his police issue bicycle and pedals on up to the mansion owned by Dr. Phillips, hoping to find Dr. Landers (q.v.) who, as far as Harris knows, is up there with Dr. West and Dr. Stanley talking to Phillips. Little does Harris know, however, that Phillips is dead and the three doctors have already gathered up his notes and left the house.
Entering the house, Harris immediately finds the boneless corpse of a servant in the dining room. Being a cop, he searches the premises without a warrant.
In the part of the house where Phillips' lab is located, Harris hears a strange electronic echo coming out of a room ominously marked "Test Animals". Walking over, Harris nudges the door open and goes into the room, whereupon one of the bone-slurping Silicates, just out of camera view above him, drops down its green tentacle and seizes Harris by the neck. His boneless corpse will later be discovered by the doctors when they return to the mansion.
I've never actually seen the movie or the death, but having your skeleton slurped out would definitely be an interesting way to die.
Btw I was just thinking, this death should under "Offscreen" because we cut away just as the tentacle grabs Harris' neck.
