After getting beaten up by baby Jack-Jack, who has transformed into a Hulk-like monster, Syndrome manages to board his transport ship to escape, but not before taking a moment to vow future revenge against Mr. Incredible and his family.

In response, Mr. Incredible flings a nearby car his way, hitting the side of the ship and knocking the super-villain off his balance and dangerously near the engine intake of his ship, leaving Syndrome clinging for dear life as the intake pulls him ever closer.

Earlier on in the film Edna Mode, the eccentric superhero costume designer, had explicitly stated "NO CAPES!" and even went as far to explain how capes, despite their stylishness, are far more trouble then they're worth as they tend to catch on to things, usually with fatal results for the wearer. Syndrome, being a villain who clearly favoured style over substance, learns this the hard way when the spinning fan of the engine turbine catches the corner of his cape and he is instantly yanked in, and chopped into a billion little pieces.

This death gains extra points for its well-placed comedic irony. May this be a lesson to all supers out there: NO CAPES!

Question, and sorry to sound like Karl Eichholtz but...

If Mr. Incredible didn't throw the car at Syndrome's jet he never would've been gotten sliced up by the engine.

Shouldn't Mr. Incredible be under killer, I mean, I don't know if he was trying to kill Syndrome, I'm guessing he kind of was, so...
