Butterfinger is the biggest and strongest member of the Candy Bars, but he is also the dumbest. During Hudson Hawk and Tommy Five-Tone's two-man siege of Castle Da Vinci, Kaplan instructs Butterfinger to go and inform the Mayflowers of the situation, not knowing that the rich American couple have double-crossed them and already killed Kit Kat.

Butterfinger goes to inform them, but upon entering the room, Minerva Mayflower shoots him twice with her double crossbow before he can say anything. Amazingly, this does not instantly kill Butterfinger. The muscle-bound hulk of a man turns and opens the door, going back outside, where he approaches Kaplan with the crossbow bolts still stuck in his chest.

He explains things to his boss with blood dribbling out of his mouth: "Hey, Coach. It looks bad. I think those Mayflowers set us up." He then falls down, dead. As Kaplan stands there astonished, Hudson Hawk appears behind him and delivers a fitting epitaph for Butterfinger: "Jumbo, we hardly knew ye."
