Bob makes the classic mistake in a horror film of a) having sex and b) drinking.

As Bob goes to the kitchen to get a beer, he opens the larder door and is taken by surprise by Myers, who grabs Bob by the throat and lifts him off his feet with one hand, while teasingly displaying a hefty kitchen knife with the other.

Bob's post coital energy levels meant that he put up less of a resistance than normal when Myers stabs him in the stomach with the knife, the force of which leaves him dangling off the ground.
