As Lori and Will attempt to escape from Camp Crystal Lake, Freddy catches up with them before they can reach the speedboat, and he's ready to finish them both off. Luck is with them though as Freddy is distracted by Lori's friend Kia, who appears from the woods where she'd been "tending" to Linderman and yells out at Freddy, offering herself as a decoy, so the others can escape.

Freddy seems uncertain at first, but takes Kia up on her offer. "How sweet. Dark meat!" He sneers as he approaches. Kia boldly stands up to him though and begins to taunt him; insulting his sweater and asking whether his knives are meant to compensate for anything he may be lacking.

Freddy, however, seems to have his attention elsewhere, but Kia is too caught up in the moment, asking why Freddy has "those teensy little things while Jason has a big ol' machete". Freddy cuts her off however, when he gestures that she may wish to turn around.

Kia does so just in time for Jason, who has come up behind her, to swing his machete into her chest with enough force behind it to send her flying hard into a tree, killing her.
