Dan O'Bannon is a local radio weatherman in the town of Antonio Bay and, unfortunately for him, is a direct descendent of the townsfolk who betrayed a group of lepers 100 years ago this very night. The betrayal consisted of lighting a fire on the beach, causing the ship the lepers were on to smash up on some rocks in the thick fog.

Naturally, these spirits are bound to hold a grudge on the innocent relatives of these treacherous dogs and so here they are, finally back in Antonio Bay, to exact revenge.

Meanwhile on the town's radio, another local personality (and friend of Bannon's), Stevie Wayne, tries to warn Dan about the fog, which the audience knows symbolises the appearance of the zombie ghosts. Wayne asks O'Bannon where the fog is now, and he tells her that it's right outside his door. Dan, being an experienced weatherman is not about to cack his pants over a thick fog, but Wayne tries to warn him there's something different about this fog; "it glows" she tells him.

Noticing the temperature and air pressure drop, and seeing a silhouette outside his door, O'Bannon goes outside his door to investigate the fog, and seeing the shadowy zombie, he says that someone is "taking this hundred-year business too seriously." That is exactly what these ghosts are doing though, and he is picked up by the neck by one of the ghosts. The red light illuminating the fog swells on and off, on the third swell, both bodies disappear and O'Bannon's days of predicting the weather are well and truly over.

You have the patience of a saint Mr Briggs!! winking smiley

I have left the killer as the first actor listed, as i didnt want to add in all those actors and characters because it would clutter up the page. If anyone has any strong objections to Rick Moreno being attributed it, or if you have evidence to the contrary, please let us know.

Upon re-watching I notice that Bannon is stabbed in the neck with a hook. Also in the commentary, Carpenter names Tommy Lee Wallace as the killer ghost.
