*************to be fine tuned********************
The teens of Harrington High have been slowly converted into a zombie like state by, so the teens believe, creatures from outer space. This has culminated in the whole of the school hunting for the last outcrop of dissention in the town. This dissention comes in the form of a handful of generation X-ers who i would not trust with a bar of chocolate, let alone the fate of the world.
Among the remaining teens are Stonely, a sci fi buff (i.e. the brains), Stan, a high school jock (i.e. the brawn), Delilah, the head cheerleader (the beauty), Frodo Baggins, the kid who is bullied by the jocks (i.e. the nerd), Zeke, some cool kid who is the local drug dealer (really kids, don't take drugs!!!) and Marybeth, some foxy girl who is new in town (i.e. who arrived at the same time as the people started becoming infected).
As chance would have it the drug dealer is an expert with chemicals and unethical experimentation, and it is not long before he uses his pet mouse as a subject to infect with alien genes. Anyway, it becomes clear, after a statistically implausible series of events, that the white nose powder Zeke has been flogging to the other students is a diuretic (and therefore the one way these teeny oiks can kill the aliens. Stonely has managed to work out that similar to "the invasion of the body snatchers" or to use a more recent film "the lost boys", if they kill the head alien, all of the town will revert to normal.
They are by this point holed up in the gymnasium, while they wait for the crowd to disperse from the American football game. However, they are less skilled at working out who the lead Alien is, and have tried and failed to save the town thus far. It is only when the teens get separated does it become clear that the enemy lay within the walls of the gym.
Marybeth reveals herself to Stonely and Casey who make a run for it while she is transforming into her true form. She manages to catch up with them and corner both in the swimming pool locker room, where she has reverted to human form, but has lost all her clothes, much to this reviewers enjoyment.
It looks unlikely that the teens can survive, but Casey manages to rebuff Marybeths seductive offers and then make a run for it back into the gym. With all attempts at peaceful negotiations gone, Marybeth charges after him intent on killing Casey and ensuring that the Alien invasion continues unnoticed.
Frodo Baggins though is a wily young hobbit though, and he sets a trap for her, starting the folding mechanism for the gym's seating and crawling underneath the stantions. Marybeth follows him, but being larger than a hobbit is more clumsy getting through all the scaffolding. Frodo manages to get out of there in the nick of time, but Marybeth, while close behind ends up getting wedged, with her snapping maw inches from Frodo's face.
Frodo has the final vial of white nose powder in his possession and mustering up all his courage he rams the vial into MArybeth's eye. After some considerable foaming, Marybeth dies.
