This is one of my favourites, a truly magnificent death. Mordred is confident of victory, wearing a suit of armour that is imbued with Morgana's (q.v.) magic which prevents the armour being pierced by normal weapons.
The final battle between good and evil is set on a mound of corpses, with Arthur (q.v.) squaring up to his son, Mordred. Mordred says "come father, let us embrace" and lunges at Arthur, impaling him upon his spear.
You don't become King of Dark Ages Britain without having a bit of constitution. Despite being mortally wounded, Arthur drags himself along the spear shaft and, setting his sword above Mordred's chest, plunges Excalibur deep into his chest, which, following a bit of coughing up blood, is enough to kill Mordred.

"Impaled" or "Stabbed".

If Mordred's his son, shouldn't family be under this?
