Mabel is a servant of Satan, who is minding Christine until the unholy one returns to Earth to claim her as his bride.

In the course of his investigation, Jericho (q.v.) suspects that Christine is in danger and goes to her house to save her. Mabel puts up a good fight and really gives Jericho a beating before finally being knocked unconscious by Christine.

As Jericho and Christine are escaping, the Devil arrives at the house. Old Nick wanders up to Mabel, his loyal servant, and unsatisfied with her apologies for letting Christine escape, snaps her neck with his hands. This serves to show the audience he is a) really quite evil, and b) strong.
