One of Durant's henchmen, Eddie, has been sent to kill Darkman inside the building that once belonged to Dr. Brinkman, and which Durant has taken possession of so that Dr. Hathaway could use it. Along with Roy, Eddie heads upstairs, and the two are separated when Darkman, wearing a mask of Roy and a business suit identical to that which Roy is wearing, both acquired from God-knows-where, waylays him.

"Roy" then summons Eddie over, claiming he has Darkman. Eddie, having apparently forgotten how Darkman impersonated him earlier in the film, and Ivan only a few moments ago, takes "Roy" at his word and walks over. However when he attempts to unmask the unconscious "Darkman," he realizes it's really Roy and "Roy" is actually Darkman. Still disguised as Roy, Darkman accuses Eddie of having helped kill Dr. Brinkman: "You killed my friend."

Eddie begs, "I'm sorry! Forgive me!" and Darkman seemingly accepts his apology, and then suddenly kicks Eddie in the face, knocking him off a convenient ledge. Eddie plunges down and smacks into the floor below. Later, Durant, happening upon Eddie's corpse, stoops down and tugs at his face, just to make doubly sure it is really him.
