Rick is one of Robert G. Durant's gang members who participated in the brutal torture-murder of Dr. Peyton Westlake. Rick during this event, Rick was responsible for shooting and killing Westlake's assistant, Yakitito.

As a result, he is the first member of the gang to be targeted by Darkman (who was Westlake in a former life), for revenge. Darkman ambushes Rick as he walks through a dark, dank alley, and somehow the two of them end up in the sewer, with Darkman interrogating Rick by holding his head underneath the water flowing from a pipe. Darkman learns from Rick the name of the gang's leader, Robert G. Durant, and Rick, who is terrified at this point, pleads with Darkman: "I told you everything!"

Darkman responds softly: "I know, Rick. I know you did." Then his voice darkens. "But let's pretend you didn't!" Then, using his superhuman strength, Darkman lifts Rick up and thrusts him out of a manhole above them, sticking Rick into the middle of the rush-hour traffic. Rick screams frantically as the numerous cars shoot by him, many swerving to avoid him.


Unsurprisingly, things don’t end well for Rick, and he is killed when a large truck comes along, and does not swerve, driving right over Rick’s terrified face, which makes a loud squishing sound.
