Cookie is the spoiled, rebellious daughter of local billionaire Mrs. Fitzwaring. Having been out all night drinking in order to come to terms with the fact that the recently deceased Nick Lang, a young man her mother had turned into a charity case, was in fact her brother by her mother's previous marriage. The pair had slept together, thereby committing incest.

Thoroughly intoxicated, Cookie goes looking for trouble. She finds it in the form of her mother's servant Bernard (q.v.), who is attempting to dispose of bothersome English professor, Dexter Cornell, as per Mrs. Fitzwaring's orders. Bernard puts Cookie in the passenger's seat of his car and decides to drive her home before killing Dex (he lies to Cookie and says he's taking Dex to the police).

But Dex frees himself of his bonds and covers Bernard's eyes while the butler is driving, and then Cookie opens the driver's side door and shoves Bernard out, climbing behind the wheel herself. For reasons best known to her, Cookie then attempts to run her mother's servant over.

Bernard, who has his automatic pistol drawn, ends up sprawled on the hood of the car. When the car hits a bump, the gun goes off, the bullet passing through the windshield and hitting Cookie in the forehead, much to the horror of Bernard. Like most drivers in these kinds of movies, even though Cookie is dead her foot remains on the accelerator, and the car drives right into a conveniently placed tar pit which proves to be Cookie's final resting place.
