Alderson is a subject trapped for some inexplicable reason inside a maze of plain cube-shaped rooms. As a character, He serves no real purpose other than for exposition at the beginning of the movie. Alderson explores a few of the aforementioned cube-rooms, but once he ends up in a red-illuminated room (from a hatch in the ceiling), a loud sound is heard, and for a while, he just stands erect and in place. Suddenly the audience sees him beginning to bleed and bloody chunks of him fall to the floor. It is then the audience sees a razor-wire trellis silently folding up and realise how he has been killed.

It is a fun, but pointless, death, as all he does is serve to reveal a plot element that would eventually be revealed anyway.

:
Alderson (why this death isn't up yet is beyond me!);
Can't be sayin' THAT anymore, Eh, Nerfmeister? I, however, can't say that I'll be submitting any more from Cube, I can't say I've ever seen it since after it first came out.

I've never seen cube, only heard of it, so can someone tell me how we find out his name.

It was on his shirt, as were the others'

It's also in the credits of the film. Since he's one of only seven characters in the entire movie, figuring out which of the onscreen people is Alderson would be a relatively simple undertaking even without the nametag.
