Gideon is the pawn shop owner who fences all of T-Bird's gangs plundered loot, so it is no surprise when Draven trashes his pawn shop and reclaims the engagement ring he gave to Shelley.
Gideon is a character who can't help but speak his mind, no matter how dire the predicament, and this is proves to be his undoing, when, later in the film, he explains to Top Dollar the events that occurred.
Top Dollar is suspicious and casually walks over to a nice collection of swords on the his office wall, and picking one up, teasingly holds it to Gideon's throat, seeing if he will change his tale. He determines he must be telling the truth when Gideon assures him he is "not twisted like you two f**ks". With a wry smile, he turns around and walks away.

Gideon breathes a sigh of relief, but in that moment, Top Dollar spins around and slides the sword into Gideon's throat.

His death throes are not short enough for Top Dollar, who says "for god sake will you hurry up and die?" and taking a gun from his henchman, he fires a few rounds into Gideon, to quiet him down.

Thanks for writing about me and Gideon
Jon Polito? The actor who played Gideon? No way! ?:-/
Unlikely to be him really.
If it is, then I'd like to ask him questions about the Daniel Stern movie 'Bushwhacked'.
It is me. Jon Polito here. What's the question about Bushwhacked?
Betrayal?
Or maybe Execution?
