Bedelia Grantham is the daughter of Nathan Grantham and aunt of Sylvia Grantham. When her father was 184 years old (according to nephew Richard anyway), it was Bedelia who took care of him in his old age in the Grantham family's isolated and mostly-empty mansion. Then she met and fell in love with Peter Yarbro, and planned to marry him.

Daddy didn't take too kindly to this, apparently fearing that if Bedelia married and moved out no one would be around to take care of him. So Nathan hired a hitman to arrange a "hunting accident" for Mr. Yarbro. This has the exact opposite effect of what Nathan intended, for instead of cowing Bedelia, it only enraged her further, and so one fateful Father's Day, as Nathan angrily demanded his Father's Day cake, Bedelia, having had all she could stand from her domineering father, bashed Nathan's head in with a marble ashtray.

With the help of niece Sylvia, Bedelia was able to fix it up so it looked like Nathan only had an accident. Despite the rest of the Granthams considering good riddance to bad rubbish (Sylvia in particular), the incident never sat right with Bedelia. And so every Father's Day for seven years after the murder, when the rest of the Granthams celebrated Nathan's death, his daughter would visit his grave in the family cemetery and talk to his tombstone.

This year's Father's Day starts out like any other when Bedelia arrives at Nathan's grave. Getting wasted with a bottle of liquor, Bedelia is at first regretful for what she did, but soon launches into an angry tirade against her dead father.

"You shouldn't have killed Peter, you know. He was a man, all right? A real man! Everything I wanted, he wanted for me! You stupid bastard! You went and screwed it all up! You screwed my mother up, you screwed me up!"

Gradually she calms down. The serenity of the cemetery appears to have a soothing effect on Bedelia. With a sigh, she comments, "It's so peaceful here."

No sooner are those words out of her mouth then a bony hand, attached to an arm wearing a tattered sleeve, erupts from the earth in front of Nathan Grantham's tombstone. As Bedelia watches in horror, screaming, "No! Nooooo!" the rotting, corpse of her murdered Father begins unearthing itself.

The years underground have not been kind to Nathan. He still wears his tattered suit, but his body has decayed to the point where he's little more than an earth-packed skeleton, all bone and sinew. Worms crawl in his empty eye sockets.

Upon laying eyes (or eye sockets) upon Bedelia, the corpse gurgles, "Where's my cake, Bedelia?" Bedelia simply responds by screaming and trying to get away, however for a dead guy, Nathan is pretty fast, as he is fully out of the grave in a matter of seconds, grabbing his daughter's arm and preventing her from escaping. "I want my cake!" he snarls.

Bedelia shrieks as her father's bony hands wrap around her throat. Hysterical, she cries out, "Why?!" As he chokes her to death, Nathan explains, "It's Father's Day, Bedelia! I want my cake!" A few more moments of squeezing and Bedelia Grantham is dead, and the first part of Nathan's gory revenge is complete.

I have loved stephen king since I can remember. I was born I 1983 so his work has always been a part of my life. I am watching the fathers day scene right now. I love ll of the creepshow movies. I waatch the first creepshow. @ least twice every single day. Its a must that I watch it everyday. If I had the other creepshow movies I would watch them just as often. But yes, nathan grantham was relentless persistant on that cake. He said "I want want my cake u dirty bitch, and I'm gonna have it!"and he for sure got it! L.o.l.
