Cyrus the Virus is the leader of the convicts who have hijacked a transport plane taking them to a more secure prison.

Newly released murderer Poe (don't worry folks, it was self defence - he is a goodytwoshoes really), is the only person who can stop them making a getaway. Through various forms of scuppering, Poe has managed to make the plane crash land on a street in Las Vegas. The ensuing chaos enables Cyrus to escape on a fire truck. However, Poe has seen this, and gives chase on a police motorcycle.

We then have a high octane battle on top of a speeding fire truck with Poe managing to get on board by impaling Cyrus's foot with a pole. Cyrus is still able to fight on, and he and Poe scuffle. Poe manages to knock Cyrus to the floor, and he handcuffs the villain to the fire truck’s ladder.

Cyrus whines about a small splinter in his leg / Cyrus realises this is not the ladder to success

Poe raises the ladder up by using its mechanism, and the audience sees that Cyrus is going to be crashed into a pedestrian flyover. The force of the impact blasts Cyrus out of the other side of the flyover, and he falls, hitting a load of electricity cables, before finally coming to a rest on a conveyor belt.

A small montage of some of the calamities to befall Cyrus: falling, electrocution and finally the conveyor belt

To his credit, Cyrus is a sturdy fellow, and is still marginally alive at this point, but is unable to move off the conveyor belt which moves him with unerring alacrity to a strange rock crusher thingamajig. Cyrus finally comes to a rest with his head directly under this rock crusher, and his head gets crushed.

Cyrus runs out of luck in Vegas

I quite liked this death, purely for the large amount of components that went in to making it up: Impaled leg, punch up, crashed into flyover, falling, electrocuted and crushed by falling object.

Truly amazing film with one of my favourite bits. This film is th reason I hate Nicolas Cage SO much. The bad guys were all so great and all the good guys just sucked. I'm glad 'The Virus' went out with flare, I would have been severely disappointed if it was anything less!

Nick Cage is awesome and you know it. ^_^

Anyways, this is indeed a great death. When more than four methods of lethality are required to take you out, you know you're one bad-*** mother.

This site needs more Con-Air deaths! Or at least updates on the ones it has, Now that "Machinery" is a category, would the conveyor belt/rock crusher qualify?
Comment 4 by 'Matt' (reply to this comment)
More than likely. It's a conveyor belt of death, so yes.
Comment 5 by 'Monk' (reply to this comment)
Plain crushed should be here as well as crushed by falling object.
Comment 6 by 'Matt' (reply to this comment)
I'm pretty sure Crushed by Falling Object covers it well enough.

Mr. Briggs comments on Machinery still need to be looked at here.
