Lawson is a retired member of John Matrix's unit, and the first of the old gang to get himself killed by Arius' (q.v.) mercenaries. He and his wife are awakened early in the morning by the sound of an approaching garbage truck. Even though today is not garbage day, they naturally assume the days have changed and so Lawson grabs the trash and hurries outside, thanking his lucky stars he has caught the garbage men in time.

Little does he know the "garbage men" are actually Cooke (q.v.) and Diaz (q.v.). A relieved Lawson says, "I was afraid you'd miss me." To which Cooke coolly replies ironically "Don't worry. We won't."

He and Diaz then retrieve two concealed machine guns from the back of the garbage truck. Before Lawson can react, he is riddled with bullets from both of their guns, and falls backwards onto the driveway. Just to make sure he's dead, Cooke walks over and empties what remains of his gun's ammo into the corpse before he and Diaz hotfoot it out of the crime scene on the slowest automobile known to man – the garbage truck.
