Ryan, one of Eric Qualen's (q.v.) henchmen, pursues Gabe Walker and Jessie Deighan through the wintry forest at night, after Gabe has made off with the money from the second misplaced suitcase. Ryan has a bit of an edge on our hero though since he's using night vision goggles to track him. This advantage is soon taken away when Gabe shoves a lit flare right into the goggles, momentarily blinding Ryan.
Gabe then knocks Ryan's machine gun away and punches him. As Gabe makes a grab for Ryan’s gun, Ryan tackles him and both men end up sliding down a very steep slope, at the end of which is a rather deep abyss.

During the slide down the slope, Ryan initially has the upper hand, straddling Gabe, but Gabe turns the tables and rolls Ryan over, getting atop the henchman and pushing his face into the snow as they slide rapidly along. This results in Ryan getting some nice ice burns along the right side of his face.

With Ryan incapacitated from the agony, Gabe focuses on avoiding going off the cliff at the bottom. Obviously, being the hero of the film, he manages this. In contrast, Ryan, an evil henchman, is not so lucky and ends up flying off the cliff and falling into oblivion.

Observing events from above with Qualen and the rest of the robbers, Hal Tucker, Gabe's captive friend, smugly sneers, "Gravity's a bitch, ain't it?"
I'm not so sure about "Freezing"
I think it refers to burns he gained from having his head pushed into the slope.
Well I don't know what that is, but it's not Freezing. How about Friction?
The burns are a combination of friction and the snow. Skin burns in very low temperatures.
All right, I guess I can buy that.
