Radiation

'Radiation' icon
In reality, an extremely grim way to go, but the more gruesome symptoms of radiation poisoning are generally ameliorated for the big screen.

Typical deaths in this category will feature nuclear power generators, radioactive materials, cosmic rays and electro-magnetic waves. Chances are also good that the plot of the film has appeared in Comic Book Form at some point!

This does of course mean there is arguably a bit of overlap with our other category, "Energy Weapon".

We're not Lab Boffins though, so basically, our criteria is that if the energy emits outwards in a non-specific fashion, we'll probably apply it to Radiation. If it's "fired" at a target, then it's more likely to be filed under Energy Weapon.
