By popular demand, we've added this category to mark deaths where the killing happens offscreen.

In some cases the death is still fairly obvious, even though the audience doesn't see it. A gruesome sound effect may be used for example, or perhaps the director will just show the expressions of the witnesses.

In many scenes though, the death may just be implied, or even left to the interpretation of the viewer.

There will still need to be some kind of visual ambiguity for this category to apply. For example, we won't use it for scenes where there is just a split second cut away from the action at the moment of violence.

Please note that this category is very different to Offscreen Killer, which is used for a specific cliche.

The icon for this category isn't very good. It's supposed to be a gravestone behind a TV screen, but I'm not all that pleased with it.
