Any death where the character has an alternative fate in one or more official releases of the movie.

Typical examples would be deleted scenes or alternative endings shown on DVDs.
Also, in some cases movies may have a Director's Cut released which differs from the original theatrical release.

Note that only one fate has to involve the character dying - some versions may have them survive.

This category will not apply for minor scene cuts (for example for censorship reasons), the fate of the character will need to be substantially changed.
