Three months since they ruined Dr. Evil's plan, Austin and Vanessa are married and on their honeymoon. Austin has ordered some room service but, unfortunately, the waiter is an unexpected guest sent by Dr. Evil; Random Task. He takes off the lid of the meal, to reveal his trademark weapon, a shoe and he throws it at Austin, hitting him directly the head."Who throws a shoe, honestly?" Austin complains, "you fight like a woman!"
This annoys Task, and the pair grapple. It is instantly obvious that Powers is not going to win with brawn, as Random Task grabs Austin by the throat and presses him against the wall. Austin tries to grab various weapons from a table behind him, including a candle stick and a coal rake, but knocks them all off, in a wonderful parody of our Grab Bag category.
Vanessa enters the fray and offers Austin the Swedish Made Penis Enlarger Pump, "Honestly, it's not mine," Austin says weakly, but Vanessa tells him to use it on Task. He puts on Task's crotch and begins inflating, which causes Task to pull a very strange expression and stop throttling Austin.
At this point, Vanessa comes up behind Task and smashes him over the head with a bottle of champagne. He falls to the floor, dead. "Smashing," Austin quips, before putting Task on the wheelie tray and shoving him down the hall.
Thanks for adding those two write-ups. On this one, it appears that the bold code is a bit off, as a section of the article is in bold.
By the way, this write-up is from the International Version of the film. There is no Grab Bag parody or "Smashing!" quip in the US version.
There is isnt there? I have the region 1 (american) DVD, and was pre3tty sure those scenes were still in there....although they might only have made it to the deleted scenes section....
I thought the US version omitted the death scenes of the insignificant minions of Dr Evil's army, where, you see the mum at home baking cakes when the phone call arrives telling her her husband have been steam-rollered to death.
Those moments are missing, according to IMDb.
The U.S. version also gets rid of Rob Lowe's cameo and Christian Slater's scenes (he's a guard that Austin hypnotizes to get him some Orange Sherbert). The "pussy...Cat" line is longer than the US print, as it was altered for a PG-13.
it does seem strange wqhy they would be omitted, as it they are both quite funny little scenes in their own right. Maybe the American audiences didn't like the fact that these deaths had knock-on effects to innocent bystanders....
It's very weird that those bits would be trimmed. Only one I can think of is pace. But it doesn't affect the film too much in my R2 DVD (where I took my screencaps from).
I've never actually thought Random Task was killed, just knocked out. So it's odd seeing him listed here.
Yeah. At the same time, though, if he was knocked out, how come he didn't return? The expression on his face also seems to indicate that he's dead.
Why would he return? We never saw Unibrau, Ivana Humpalot, or Bazooka Joe (as Robin Swallows' friend is called in the CCG game) again despite the fact neither was killed. And heck, Robin herself did not die and was never seen again.
Ivana and Unibrau were never killed anyway. Unibrau was just Frau's lover, not a worker for Dr. Evil. Ivana was useless against Austin, so obviously she would never be used again.
Bazooka Joe (?) is just another Dr. Evil lackey who is never named. Just a random henchman.
Well I still contend that Random Task wasn't killed.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
Champagne is spelled wrong as the murder weapon.
Actually, they ran out of spaces.
