Gerald Bringsley is returning home from a hard day at the office. Getting off the underground at Tottenham Court Road, he stops to buy a packet of sweets. Unfortunately for Gerald this particular night is a full moon, and stalking this station is the werewolf (David Kessler).

Gerald really needed a bowler hat to finish off the English stereotype perfectly

Gerald hears a couple of growls from the other end of the platform, whatever is making the noise is out of view. With true English stiff upper lippedness, Gerald says threateningly "I can assure you this is not in the slightest bit amusing, I shall inform the guards" and proceeds to walk through the tunnels to the exit. A few moments later, Gerald's attention is caught once again by a growl behind him and he turns around. The camera angles for this are marvellous, and we get a werewolf's eye view of Gerald looking horrified at the monster rounding the tunnel corner. Quite understandably Gerald starts to run, hotly pursued by the werewolf.

After a couple of minutes, Gerald is completely exhausted from running, and he finally collapses in a heap on one of the escalators. The werewolf slowly climbs up the escalator and with some nice editing, the audience is left to imagine what horrors were inflicted on Gerald by the monster.

Gerald is on the stairway to heaven?

He is not quite dead though, as David finds out a little later all victims of the wolf man’s curse are forced to walk the earth in limbo. David catches up with his victims in a porno theatre on Piccadilly Circus, where Gerald brilliantly reprimands him for his "carnivorous lunar activities"

Chatting to dead people in porno theatres is par for the course in this film

I have scored this death quite highly as i love the camera work and the fact that the monster is not needed to be seen in order to generate the horror/suspense. Every time i visit Tottenham Court Road, i think of this scene.
