Death suggested by karl_eichholtz_13
Zorin's (q.v.) plan to sink California into the Pacific and turn Nevada into beach front property suffers a blow when he double crosses May Day and leaves her to drown in the mine shaft.
This betrayal, coupled with a night in bed with Bond leads to a "St. Paul on the road to Damascus" type conversion in May Day, and she decides to get her revenge on Zorin by removing the rather large detonator from the tonnes of dynamite and wheeling it out of the mine.

M'aidez May Day
Zorin, who is busy escaping in the slowest escape vehicle known to man (an airship), is horrified to see what May Day has done, and the pair lock eyes. May Day’s look of triumph is short lived though as the bomb she is sitting on detonates, killing her.

Like most of Bond's conquests, May Day goes out with a bang
The adage "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" seems apt here.
Jump!
I'll half to hold the brake on!
Jump!
Kill zorin for me!
May Day Jump!
Only seconds to go.
May Day Jump now!
May Day.
Boooooooooooooom

Shouldn't she be counted as Goody?????? I mean she didn't realy mean to help Zorin that A hole
Actually she did, she just stopped his plan because Zorin betrayed her. Before she was left to drown, she openly had a part in Zorin's plan and killed quite a few innocents.
(Zorin or Zorina? Only the spell-check knows for sure.)
This and Tibett have the wrong death year. ('85 instead of '86)
It wasn't just that Zorin betrayed May Day, but also that in flooding the mine he killed her two friends as well. (laughing the entire time). I remember her finding them while she and Bond were trying to get to the bomb -- That would be some powerful motivation for revenge as well.
This is self-sacrifice
Yes, this is definitely Self-Sacrifice. I'm having a hard time seeing how she could possibly be classed as a Goody, in response to a previous comment. In my opinion she's on borderline Ambivalent, seeing as she only stopped Zorin's attack because of his betrayal... No other reason. He could have killed millions of innocent people and she'd have willingly aided him, but as soon as he displays the same attitude towards her she thinks he's a monster. Still a Baddy I think, but I guess Ambivalent probably is most appropriate.
I have to agree.
