Silicon Valley has just been saved from sinking in to the Pacific Ocean and the arch villain of the piece, Max Zorin, becomes the first person to use an airship as a getaway vehicle.
Unfortunately for Max, hanging on to a mooring rope is the world’s greatest secret agent, James Bond. After a few minutes flapping, Bond manages to tether the rope against the Golden Gate Bridge (in San Francisco). This leads to Bond and Zorin having a rather precarious scuffle on one of the bridges cables. Zorin is armed with a fire axe; Bond with his wit and half hearted kung fu kicks.
Zorin's death is very disappointing, comprising of a strategic nudge, Zorin losing his balance and, after a suitable period of clinging on (for dramatic effect), falling into San Francisco bay.
Zorin slips off the cable......
.....and plunges into San Francisco bay
what if Max Zorin had lived?
if Max Zorin had lived California would have been flooded and Nevada,Oregan, and Arizona would have been turned into beach front properties.
I love Zorin's death! I was going to put Jenny Flex on here but then people would be like.
Who?
And if Zorin had survived the fall, he would have drowned. Riiight?
I'll bump this up since no one saw it.
i am not sure about adding drowned to this - we do not see him struggling in the water, we just see him fall into the bay. Without question the fall would have been enough to kill him on its own.
you could also argue that halfway into his decent, a giant pteradactyl swoops down and eats him - with no video evidence to the contrary, it is impossible to disporve
was he Baddy (Minor) or Baddy (Major)?
Duh!!!!! Baddy MAJOR If he wasn't the bad guy, Who WAS!
Victor Tourjansky, AKA man holding wine bottle!
Very Funny, briggy
Here's another one, this is separate from the other AVTAK deaths because of the year. Is this 1986 or 85?
1985, because TLD came out in 1987.
I'm glad to see that this death made it into the unsatisfying category. Nothing quite so unsatisfying as a major baddy falling to his death. Especially if it's an uber-awesome baddy like Max Zorin.
I saw the movie last night finally. I liked his death scene, falling from a great height is my favorite, and although it wasn't thee best death of all time for a baddy like him, it still was decent enough.
1985, because TLD came out in 1987.
Could someone correct this then? It needs to connect with the other deaths in the movie.
if Max Zorin had lived California would have been flooded and Nevada,Oregan, and Arizona would have been turned into beach front properties.
No, Bond, May Day and Stacey had stopped the bomb from destroying the geological lock, so the earthquake was prevented.
there was a fight with bond and zorin atop golden gate bridge so there should be a one on one icon
as people say, its not the fall that kills, its the sudden stop
How did this make it into the Unsastisfying category. I found this to be one of the best film climaxes ever high up there with Casino Royale, At World's End and Revenge of the Sith. Bond and Zorin grappling for dominance on the top of the Golden Gate Bridge was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! Although I do admit that falling to one's death is an overly-cliched way to die it was pretty much inevitable. Even if Bond killed him in any other way (which I hope he didn't since it was still cool) then Zorin's corpse would have still plummeted into the San Francisco Bay. Nice rhyme eh? Maybe I'll make things out of clay, eat some bales of hay and live by the bay. I just may, what do you say!?!?!?
Cannibals go fishing! After all, Zorin's corpse would yet turn into dinner.
Besides, this is just a joke! I didn't want to put this in the Devoued category.
Y'know something.
He didn't die by drowning. He fell of the Goldengate bridge and Broke his back hitting the water.
Check the film yo!

According to the page for drowning, as long as the corpse ends up submerged in water, it qualifies as drowning.
It's 1985. It's not 1986. 1985.
Rest assured, falling from the top of the Golden Gate Bridge is fatal. It's got one of the highest suicide rates in the world, and that's just by jumping from the road - Zorin fell from the actual support cable! Hitting water from that height would be like hitting concrete (especially if you land flat on your back!), so I reckon Zorin was well and truly dead before he'd even get a chance to drown.
Bond and Zorin fight on the bridge so there should really be a One on One category here.
