Please read Dan Evans death first, to know why this death happened.

Charles Prince is Ben Wade's best man in his former group, and he is being psycho about the arrest of Ben Wade, that he's willing to kill everybody in his way. He is the movie's biggest asshole.

Charles Prince had just killed Ben's friend, Dan, and Ben is not happy about it. Charles walks up to Ben, thinking about Ben is happy that he's free and can walk away, but boy, was he wrong.

Charles hands Ben his revolver to Ben and gets ready to leave, and Ben faces him, triggering a simple shot to his chest, and the rest of the group, falls down dead, shot by Ben. Strangly enough, Charles is still standing alive, and Ben gets close to him, giving Charles another shot in the chest to avenge the death of Dan.

I have listed this death unsatisfying because it's strange that Charles is still standing when shot, and the others falls dead when shot, and Charles is the closest to Ben, so it's just weird thinking about that.
